update 20/03/2020
Welcome to Faculty of Engineering,
King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Thailand.
Ranked amongst the country’s top universities, KMUTNB has recently celebrated the 60th anniversary of excellence in teaching, research and innovation in 2019. As part of the KMUTNB’s family, the Faculty of Engineering has proudly trained more than 40,000 engineers from undergraduate to doctorate levels and developed countless technologies for local and global industries, thus playing an integral part in national and international human resource and industrial development.
Entering our seventh decade of academic training, we aim to equip our graduates with skills and mindsets suitable for working in the global economy and in the era of disruption. With such goals in mind, current and new academic programs must, therefore, comply with outcome-based education approach, and a four-year plan to mobilize all academic curricula towards the accreditation system set by Washington Accord, particularly American’s Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), has accordingly been set in motion. Chemical Engineering will be the first program to enter ABET evaluation in 2021, and more will follow within the next few years.
Adding to the rigor of our academic program, we will continue to encourage industrial research projects focusing on complex engineering problems. These projects allow our students and faculty members to practice engineering beyond classroom training, engage in real-life applications, and further develop both technical and soft skills required for successful project management. Industrial collaborations have long been our strength, and we remain committed to making it stronger.
In the world of fast-changing technology and globally shared knowledge, we are also looking beyond borders. Recently, we have the pleasure to welcome on campus a satellite office of Kyushu Institute of Technology, our long-time partner. Our engagements with various world-class academic and research institutions in the forms of such activities as student and staff exchanges, joint academic programs, joint conference, and joint research projects reinforce and attest to our internationally recognized engineering practices.
As we march through our seventh decade, Faculty of Engineering at KMUTNB, stands firm in its position to practice and deliver the best engineering education, while standing ready to tackle advanced engineering problem, serve as an agent of technological changes, and drive innovations. We are inviting all of you to engage in these endeavors.
Assoc. Prof. Udomkiat Nontakaew, Ph.D.
