MMU Delegation Visits KMUTNB to Strengthen International Ties in Education and Research
Bangkok, Thailand – October 25, 2024 – Representatives from Malaysia’s Multimedia University (MMU) paid a productive visit to King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) to discuss new avenues for collaboration in higher education and research. Led by Prof. Dr. Lim Way Soong and Asst. Prof. Dr. Yeo Boon Chin from Faculty of Engineering and Technology, the MMU delegation engaged in strategic discussions and met with key KMUTNB faculty and leadership.
The delegation began with a meeting with Asst. Prof. Tanaporn Rojhirunsakool, Assistant Dean for International Affairs at the Faculty of Engineering, to explore potential collaborations on student exchange programs, short-term semester exchanges, and a Fast Track Master’s degree initiative. Both parties expressed enthusiasm for developing programs that would provide unique learning opportunities for students and accelerate academic growth across institutions.
Following this, the delegation visited Techno Park, KMUTNB’s innovation hub, where they met with Asst. Prof. Nophadon Wiwatcharakoset, Deputy Director of Techno Park. Here, they discussed technological advancements and ongoing projects that could open doors for future research collaborations. Discussions with KMUTNB leaders also included aligning program milestones for the Matching Grant initiative and setting a date for the anticipated signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA ). This agreement would formalize both universities’ commitment to collaborative innovation and engineering education efforts.
Concluding their visit, the MMU delegates met with Ms. Sikan Kulchonchan, Vice President for International Affairs at KMUTNB, to further explore international partnership opportunities.
The visit highlights a promising step toward a sustainable academic partnership between MMU and KMUTNB, aiming to foster cross-cultural learning and technological advancement while benefiting students, faculty, and the broader academic community.
